Teacher of the Year Award
In the 2012-2013 school year STOPS awarded its first Teacher Of The Year (TOTY) Award. Naturally, this annual award is subject to funding approval by the STOPS Board. The award is funded with proceeds from STOPS fundraising efforts, and from generous donations from our ST families like you! If you would like to donate to this award, please use the DONATE button on our home page.
The recipient of the award is selected from recommendations made by ST students and parents. So we need to hear from you! In April or May each year the STOPS Board will send out a message asking for TOTY nominations. A committee will recommend a winner to the Board which will vote on a winner at the May STOPS meeting.
If you would like to nominate a deserving teacher, send an email to stops95123@yahoo.com. Remember, your nomination will be more effective if you add some reasons why you feel the teacher deserves the award. You don't have to provide answers to allow of these ideas, just use them as a guideline when sending us a paragraph describing your nominee.

- How does your teacher take advantage of technology to help teach the subject matter?
- How does the teacher demonstrate a willingness to provide extra help when your student needs it?
- Describe your teachers teaching style and why you feel it is effective.
- How does your teacher demonstrate passion and dedication?
- Describe an event where your teacher showed fairness or compassion in handling a situation.
